REASONS FOR MAINTAINING THIS DATALOG

Some website hosting services (such as Google Sites, as it was happening before and at the time of writing this text in mid-2026, and as it still may be the case at the present time and in the future) may disconnect graphical assets from this website and from my site-associated personal domain - and serve them from their own or different domains and/or under different names and/or with metadata deleted.  In such cases, visitors and robot crawlers interested in complete semantic and technical data are advised to seek the original images through this list of assets named Datalog (useful mirrors and canonical authoritative sources may be linked from here).

Picture descriptions sometimes do not belong near the corresponding images (for strategic, experiential, narrative, aesthetic, or other critical reasons), and neither do rich bodies of surrounding text.  This is especially true for visual promenades, art galleries, pictorial challenges / quizzes, cartoons, comics, or nonverbal discovery journeys.  That is why this Datalog system collects textual elaborations apart from pixel representations, and links them together.  It does not matter that somebody has programmed search engine crawlers and AI tools to love pictures labeled with exhaustive captions and floating in oceans of semantically rich narratives:  This site puts human experience and authoring intentions first.  Machines can adapt to the reality of interpretive richness and creative expressiveness — and so should eventually do narrow-minded engineers.

INSTANCE-VARIANT-1-TECHNIQUE:  Julion Okram's hand-drawn base motif (pencil drawing) was digitized, photoshopped, cropped, AI-distorted to resemble a section of a convex ellipsoid surface, and manually corrected for multiple AI errors.  An AI-generated pattern of lacquer cracklings was manually photoshopped to simulate spatial depth under oblique illumination and blended / overlaid onto the warped pencil drawing.  A manually created planar (2D) vector graphic of the oval's frame was rasterized and submitted to AI for texture conversion and 3D effect.  All components were manually masked and merged into a single image.  Background and inscriptions are editable and controlled via image editing software.

DESCRIPTION-VISUAL:  A reddish-brown wooden coffer, approximately 60 centimeters / 24 inches wide, lying flat horizontally on its hand-deep bottom tray segment, with the hand-thick lid segment raised open and two side fixtures holding it in a vertical position.  These slim fixtures are disguised in historizingly laced sleeves, which hide the modern pneumatic safety mufflers from direct view, thus preserving the craft-piece's overall retro-style appearance.  Writer Julion Okram has designed and crafted the pivoted lid as a little office cabinet with 6 (3 rows of 2) small drawers near the bottom, a much deeper and double-wide large drawer above them, and the upper floor divided into 3 compartments - the central one featuring a tambour closing mechanism similar to historical rolltop desks, and two side cabinet-like boxes equipped with single-leaf little doors.  Both doorlets are constructed from custom-made, hand-carved wooden frames holding glass panes, with a hexagonally patterned wire mesh embedded for a Medieval-to-Victorian appearance.  All these movable elements have intricate internal locking mechanisms to keep them closed and immobilized during lid lowering and subsequent shipping or travel.  The bottom segment is divided by vertical separators into 12 rectangular wells - 9 roughly mug-sized, two 2-/3-times wider, and one large with the storage capacity of about 2 x 3 mugs.  The romantic portmanteau's name "skrinet" reflects a relaxed combination of overlapping lexical hints from Latin scripto (write), Anglophone scribbling (sketching) and cabinet, and Slavic skrinka / skrinetka (small box or cupboard).
